Terrain Parks are a consistent figure throughout the Hakuba resorts. For freestyle riders the main parks are found at; Happo One, Goryu 47, Tsugaike and Yanaba all offering a tonne of features.
Happo One Terrain Park is designed and meticulously maintained by High Cascade, the freestyle training camp. The Happo High Cascade Park is literally a couple hundred meters above Hakuba House and only one high-speed-quad lift away. The park has a variety of kickers and spines from intermediate hits to advanced 50 footers. You will also find a great choice of boxes, rails and cool features. Also very close to Hakuba House is the new Happo High Cascade Beginners Park in the Sakka Ski area.
Hakuba 47 Terrain Park and Halfpipe; The R-4 Big Snow Park is located on the left hand side of the Hakuba 47 Gondola and is one of the most well maintained and challenging terrain parks in the region. The rails, jumps and boxes are all huge.
The halfpipe may not be a superpipe but it is cut well and maintained daily.
A boarder cross course is set up at various times throughout the season for local competitions.
Tsugiake has a great terrain park, and with a good selection of fun tabletops and kickers.
Yanaba is another great day out for freestyle riders. It is a small terrain park only resort, featuring a 20m rail and halfpipe, open from 9am – 9pm for only 1,500yen including a free drink.
